Income skills, legal awareness, protection from violence and leadership opportunities for women and adolescent girls.
In most of the households we visit, women already work from before sunrise until after dark. What they often lack is not effort but income of their own, information about their rights and a safe place to raise their voice. This programme addresses exactly those three gaps.
What we do
- Income-generating training for women — tailoring, handicraft, food processing, nursery and poultry rearing — followed by equipment and market linkage.
- Adolescent girls' clubs covering health, hygiene, nutrition, self-defence, digital safety and continuing education.
- Campaign and mediation against child marriage, working together with guardians, teachers, imams, priests and local government.
- Legal awareness and referral on marriage registration, dowry, inheritance, maintenance and protection from domestic violence.
- Support for survivors of violence — counselling, medical referral, legal aid linkage and follow-up.
- Women in leadership: encouraging women to join and lead savings groups, school committees and local development committees.
How we work
We work with men as much as with women. Fathers, husbands and brothers are invited to the same courtyard meetings, because a change that the family does not accept does not last. Every activity is planned with the local women's group, not for it.
